Cambridge Cohousing

175 Richdale Avenue – This is a 41 unit condominium project located near Porter Square in Cambridge and completed in 1997.  It includes a variety of unit sizes and configurations; large townhouses, small townhouses, and flats configured as studios, one, two, three and four bedroom units. Roughly one half the flats are served by elevator with access to underground parking.  There is an exercise room and structure for a rooftop spa; not yet completed.  

The building contains many “sustainable” features, and was chosen by the AIA as the best example of sustainable residential design in the country at the time.  This led to an award, and it’s presentation at an international conference on Green Buildings held in Vancouver in 1998.
